Our School
Castlefrank Elementary School is located on McCurdy Drive in Kanata. It was built in 1988 to accommodate the growth in the surrounding Katimavik community.
The school’s name was chosen to reflect where it was situated on Castlefrank Road. Its name lent itself easily to theme work, which revolved around the school’s symbol of a castle. This symbol, and the school’s colours of red, blue, and yellow, are incorporated into the decor in the foyer of the school, into our beautiful mural of a large castle painted on the wall in the hallway, and are also reflected in the design of our two play structures.
Mission Statement
Castlefrank Elementary School has a safe, caring, respectful and positive learning environment for everyone. We encourage and guide each learner, through clear expectations toward goals of reaching their utmost potential. Our School motto is...
Be the best you can be!

Castlefrank’s School Council is an enthusiastic and engaged group of dedicated parents and community members who strive to support the school, and its endeavours, through a variety of means. All parents/guardians are welcome to attend the School Council meetings and many are very involved in the school and greater community. The objectives of the School Council include developing a strong relationship among home, school and the wider community, raising funds, and encouraging the sharing of views and opinions.
Castlefrank parents are encouraged to be part of school life. An extensive volunteer program supports activities, such as regular hot-lunch programs throughout the month, annual Book Fair, Grounds Improvement and Safety Committees. Monthly School Council meetings are well attended and help to create a positive atmosphere of parental feedback and support for staff in the school.
